Connectors

For easy interchange of thermocouples and RTD’s, we provide a wide range of connector options off-the-shelf. Covering all calibration types and compatible with most wire options, these can be line plugs or sockets, panel sockets or panel assemblies.

Temperature sensors are liable to corrosion and mechanical damage due to their location in challenging environments such as furnaces and machinery, so the need for occasional replacement is inevitable.

Our connectors allow fast and reliable interchange with no risk of dangerous cross connection, due to their ergonomic design and polarised pins. Short circuits are prevented by the sandwiched construction which secures lead wires.

The ambient temperature when using a thermocouple or RTD connector will determine whether to use standard thermoplastic, high temperature thermoplastic or ceramic materials. Glass filled thermoplastic allows reliable operation up to a sustained temperature of 200°C, whilst the high temperature option is rated to 350°C. Ceramic connectors should be used in applications that require the plugs and sockets to be able to withstand temperatures of up to 650°C.

All our connectors are colour coded and will work with other makes of plugs and sockets. They can be mounted directly on to sheaths of up to 4.5mm diameter (miniature versions) or 8mm with the standard versions using an optional brass bush.

Sockets can be supplied as in-line or panel mount, whilst we are also able to offer complete panel assemblies.
